It's designed for roughly 10 to 16, where Poppy adjusts as they grow: concrete and encouraging for the younger ones, direct and respectful for teenagers.
Design subject to change

But that's a guide, not a gate. You know your child best, so it's your call. And plenty of parents quietly use it too, to freshen up a half-remembered fact or think something out loud (no judgment). There's no age limit on being curious.

That sounds upsetting. What happened?

Made to be held. Five centimeters across and about 45 grams. Small, light, and comfortable to hold while you talk.
Light and sound keep you in the loop. Light and a gentle buzz show when Poppy listens, thinks, or speaks.
Hold to talk. Release to stop. Poppy only listens while you hold the button. Audio is never saved, only turned into text.
At home, or on the go. Connect to Wi-Fi at home or your phone’s hotspot when you’re out.
Just ask. Ask Poppy to change the volume, dim the light, or turn off sound effects. It lets you know when the battery is low or an update is ready.
We don’t save your audio. Your speech is transcribed, and conversations are kept as text so you can return to them. Poppy only listens while you hold the talk button.
No. Poppy only listens while you hold the button to talk. Release it to stop. There’s no wake word or background listening.
Poppy remembers goals and context from past conversations to help you pick up where you left off. You can view and delete saved memories in Settings.
Yes, on a child's account. Every conversation shows up as text in your app for you to read, as it happens, so you have full visibility into what they're working through.
Yes. For the countries it covers, currently Norway, Sweden, Finland, the UK, France, Germany, and Spain, Poppy knows the official curriculum grade by grade and draws on it when it's relevant, so what your kid works on lines up with class. More are on the way, and even outside them it still teaches really well, just not tied to a national curriculum.
It's grounded in decades of learning science, things like how much more sticks when you work it out yourself, the value of a little productive struggle, and curiosity leading the way, then refined against thousands of real example conversations until it felt right. The exact recipe is ours, but the goal is simple: keep your kid doing the thinking.
Poppy stays gentle and human. It can tell the difference between "I can't do this" about homework and something genuinely heavy, so it won't alarm a kid who's just stuck. When something worrying does come up, it responds with care and points them toward a trusted grown-up, rather than trying to be a therapist.
Poppy can look things up when information is missing or may have changed. It can still make mistakes. Ask how it reached an answer, question anything that seems off, and check important information.
They can, though it can get a little confusing. Each Poppy is set up around a single child, with their own space and memory, so siblings sharing one would share all of that too.

It needs a connection to think, either your home Wi-Fi or a phone's hotspot. If the signal drops, Poppy just pauses and picks up right where you left off once it's back.
Poppy helps you think things through for yourself.
Because the future needs people who can think on their own.

Answers are instant now, so memorizing facts doesn't matter anymore. What matters is staying curious and asking better questions. Your own curiosity will take you further than any homework assignment ever could.
You can look up anything, so just "knowing" isn't the goal. The real question becomes: what is actually worth doing? It's about cutting through the noise, figuring out what matters to you, and having the courage to go do it.
When everyone follows their own path, we all end up seeing the world differently. It takes real practice to explain how you see things, and to truly listen to someone who disagrees. Bridging that gap is a skill.
The biggest problems are too complex for one person to solve alone. They get solved when minds work side by side, and today, not all of those minds are human. The new superpower is learning to think with machines, not just use them.
School subjects, a presentation, an interview answer, or a decision on your mind. Ask questions, try explaining an idea in your own words, and explore a next step that makes sense to you.
Poppy helps you think things through. Depending on what you need, it might offer an explanation, a hint, a question, or a different perspective. The aim is to help you understand, not just finish with an answer.
Over 30, including English, Spanish, French, German, Norwegian, Swedish, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. Speak in your preferred language, or set one in the app.
Yes. A chat you start on the device carries over to the app and back again, and every past conversation stays there for you to look back on whenever you like.
